Heroin Skateboards was started in North West England in 1998 by skateboarder and artist Mark 'Fos' Foster. It is most likely the only thing worth anything that has come out of Burnley... actually, it IS the only thing of value to come out of Burnley. Fos is more than just a skateboarder, he's an artist, a pioneer and a master of the subversive, which when you look at Heroin, is clear to see.
Heroin Skateboards, as much as it sounds like a Sunday afternoon with Jim Greco, the name actually plays on Fos' sobriety and his intense obsession and passion with skateboarding, his heroin.
Nowadays, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Heroin is an American brand with a growing and swelling customer base outside of the UK, in 2011, Heroin was welcomed into Baker Boys Distribution to further grow the brand and create a stronger presence within the United States, where it enjoys the majority of its success in 2022.
However, Heroin are still a heavy presence in UK skateboarding, especially in the North, with a team of riders such as Joe O'Donnel, Zach Riley and many others, they're still riding strong across the North West and the UK, as if their lives depended on it.
